Mullins K, Mac Colgáin D, Carton P.
J Orthop Sports Phys Ther. 2022 Aug 5:1-31. doi: 10.2519/jospt.2022.11144.

Migliorini F, Maffulli N, Pintore A, Ernst J, Eschweiler J, Hildebrand F, Betsch M.
Sports Med Arthrosc Rev. 2022 Sep 1;30(3):118-140. doi: 10.1097/JSA.0000000000000351.
This systematic review on the risk of OA development in sports included 63 studies with a total of 628,036 participants of a mean age of 45.6±15.8, and with a mean follow-up of 8.0±8.4 years. Football and soccer players seem to be at higher risk for the development of OA, as well as military personnel. Elite dancing and ice hockey lead to more hip labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement and subsequent hip OA.
