Mark Russell:
With a remarkable background encompassing over 75 peer-reviewed articles, international conference presentations, and leadership in industry-funded contract research projects, Professor Mark Russell is at the forefront of sports science. He currently supervises several Doctoral candidates at Leeds Trinity University, leading projects related to profiling the performance and physiological responses of football goalkeepers and players, optimizing halftime strategies, and facilitating recovery in football players. Professor Russell’s work also extends to collaborations with various professional football teams, including English Premier League clubs and National and International squads. At the conference, he will shed light on “Beyond 90 min: considerations for extra time.”
Bernardo Requena:
An esteemed university professor in Sports Training and High Performance in Football, Bernardo Requena’s contributions include co-authoring scientific articles on physical conditioning for elite football players. With a wealth of experience as a strength & conditioning coach for top clubs like Sevilla FC, Athletic Club, Real Madrid CF, and the Spanish National Football Team U-21 and U-20, he boasts an impressive list of sporting achievements, including UEFA Europa League and UEFA Champions League titles. As a European PhD in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, Bernardo’s expertise will revolve around the “Technical-Tactical profile of football players, and its application to performance (V).”
Alfredo Santalla:
Bringing his wealth of knowledge and experience as an external consultant in physiology, load control, and nutrition for the 1st team of Real Betis Balompié SAD, Alfredo Santalla is an authority in performance evaluation, load control, and physiological adaptations in football. His expertise extends to teaching, research, and consulting tasks with professional football players, focusing on laboratory evaluations, biological control, and designing nutritional and ergogenic plans. Currently serving as a Professor of Exercise Physiology at Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Spain) and Director of studies of the Master in Football Strength and Conditioning at the Football Science Institute, Alfredo will delve into “Heat training in football.”
Igor Jukic:
An international lecturer and high-performance specialist in sport, Igor Jukic’s influence spans multiple areas. As the founder and current president of the Croatian Physical Conditioning Coaches Association and the founder and current secretary general of the European Physical Conditioning Association, he has been at the forefront of advancing sports science. With a significant contribution to over 200 papers related to sports science and high performance in sport, Igor’s expertise is unparalleled. His experience also includes serving as the strength and conditioning coach for football teams during various competitions.
